As a basketball team playing in a national competition, the Kenfrost Homes Cairns Taipans know firsthand the difference top-tier health, sports science, physiotherapy and psychology services can make in building high-performance athletes.

That is why we are proud to partner with CQUniversity as our naming rights high-performance partner.

CQUniversity ensures players have access to cutting-edge sports science, health and wellbeing expertise. This unique partnership benefits the Taipans as a team and the University’s researchers and students who work with our players and staff.

The delivery of services that support health and wellbeing isn’t just important to us though. We want to see all our supporters and the wider FNQ region realise better health outcomes through the delivery of more healthcare services in the region. To achieve this, we need a strong pipeline of future healthcare professionals, in a range of disciplines, to support our hospitals and private clinics.

CQUniversity knows this is a community challenge that needs to be addressed and that is why the proposed Health Wing at the new Cairns campus is a great idea.

In fact, such a facility is critical in ensuring the Far North has enough nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, radiographers, exercise physiologists and mental health professionals in the future.

By training the next generation of experts right here in Cairns, we can provide local students with access to world-class opportunities without having to leave the region.

This investment strengthens not only the future of our workforce but also the broader community, supporting key industries such as sport, healthcare, education, and community services. This creates not only a healthier population, but a more resilient economy, and a brighter future for Cairns.

Ahead of the upcoming Federal Election, the Cairns Taipans fully back this project, announced by CQUniversity today in their bid to deliver a new home for Allied Health and Engineering in Cairns. Our community needs this, so please support the team behind your team!
